Remove Makeup Without Makeup Remover

We’ve all been in this situation once or twice before: We go back home after a long day and all we do is remove our makeup and relax. But, alas! We don’t have any makeup remover left. So do you so call it quits and go to bed with a face still covered in products.? Nope. We ain’t about that life.

Lucky for you, I know a ton of options for how to remove makeup without remover. You might surprise yourself with how many alternative makeup remover options you already own.

Coconut oil

In a previous article, we talked about the many uses of coconut oil and why it’s a must-have in your house. Well, turns out coconut oil is an amazing makeup remover.

All you need is a teaspoonful size of coconut oil applied all over your face and let it rest for two minutes. Afterwards, using a warm, wet washcloth, wipe away the oil and makeup. Cleanse your face with your normal cleanser, pat dry with a towel and finish with your usual serums and moisturizers.

Wipes

Wipes are another amazing alternative for makeup remover. They are (in my opinion) one of the best ways to remove makeup quickly and easily.

They are pretty inexpensive and available in any beauty store and supermarkets. All you have to do is use the wipes all over your face, in gentle motions until you can’t see any makeup. You will need two or three pieces to remove all the makeup on your face.

As usual, you will still need to cleanse your face and moisturize it after using wipes.

Natural Baby Shampoo

Baby shampoo is extremely tender on the skin and that’s why it’s a great alternative for makeup remover.

All you need to do is mix the natural baby shampoo with a little warm water until sudsy, and then rub this mixture over your face. Rinse immediately after with some cold water and don’t forget to cleanse and moisturize!

Olive oil

Just like coconut oil, olive oil can also be used a makeup remover because it works by melting the makeup off.

All you need is a teaspoonful of olive oil and apply it in circular motions all over your face. Then, with a warm wet washcloth, rub off the makeup. Do this twice to make sure that all the makeup is off. Finish off with a skin cleanser and a moisturizer or your daily skincare routine.
