Are you scratching your head over travel destinations during lockdown? You do not need to, anymore. There are a myriad of places to visit in Nairobi during the pandemic.
I was bitten by the traveling bug a long time ago and I haven’t stopped traveling since. Traveling is therapeutic for me. I believe it is the best way to live life and see the world. I once saw a meme that said “Don’t let a man who does not have a passport tell you you’re the most beautiful girl in the world. How will he know yet he hasn’t been anywhere else?” I laughed, hard then agreed.
Well, we know that we are now limited to only traveling withing the respective towns/regions that we are in and for that reason, I decided to check out some pretty awesome but hidden travel destinations within Nairobi that you can visit during the lockdown.
- The New Rain – Kenyatta Road
This continental luxurious hotel is located in Juja off Thika super highway.
The hotel stands on an expansive 12-acre farm and it has a therapeutic countryside greenery. Its gazebo has a well-set dining area, a man-made dam and a playground for the kids.
This is a great place to visit in Nairobi during the lockdown.
- Stedmak Gardens – Karen
If you are wondering where to go during a lockdown, Stedmak Gardens is the place to be. It has an animal park including a bird sanctuary and a snake park, floating restaurants, a heated pool and an amusement park.
- Dam Red Hill – Limuru
This quarantine travel destination is on my list of places to visit during the pandemic because of the amenities.
They have floating restaurants, zip-lining, boat riding, horse riding and a children’s playground.
Their food is also freshly made with reasonable wait times.
- Paradise lost – Kiambu Road
Are you a picnic person? Then Paradise Lost is your place to visit in Nairobi during the lockdown.
You can get to set up your picnic near the water body, take a walk in the coffee bushes or even ride the horses. Be sure to check out the place.
- Ngong Hills
I know what you are thinking – Cliché, right?
Well, I think the Ngong Hills is a pretty dope place to go hiking in the morning. Other activities include zip-lining, archery and bike-riding.
All these quarantine travel destinations are affordable and easily accessible.
Where have you visited during the pandemic?
Also, always remember to have your mask on when you are outdoors in public, carry a sanitizer with you at all times and maintain social distance.
