Normalize Starting Over

It is okay to want to start over

Life often goes in circles and things we are accustomed to at times, come to an end. It is hard and painful but it is important to learn to move on. In as much as we are routine beings and starting over may sound foreign and uncomfortable, it is the only way to keep going even when things are thick. Normalize starting over be it from a job, relationship or any form of toxicity that is holding you back.

Remind yourself that it is okay to move on and start over. It is a natural part of evolving into a smarter, better and stronger version of yourself and no one should ever make you feel bad for wanting or needing to start over.

At the lowest point of your life, you might feel like you are stuck and that there is no way out but listen to me, it will be over. There is always a way out. It is upon you decide if the circumstances you are facing will ruin you or improve you.

Make peace with your reality

It is happening.

The relationship is over.

You have been laid off.

You have lost a close family or friend.

Work with your reality, not against it. Get real with yourself, no matter how unpleasant it may be.

We often get stuck in life because we are either unwilling or unable to accept our reality as it is. When we continue to stubbornly in fantasy and especially how we wish things would be, it becomes even harder to normalize starting over.

Revisit your goals

When learning to move on, it is important that you remind yourself of your values. This will see to it that your foundation on which you are building this new chapter of your life is firm and solid.

Revisiting and resetting the goals will help you stay on the path towards reinventing yourself.

At the end of the day, starting over will be made easy by knowing where you’ve come from, realizing what went wrong and working on a better future for yourself and those around you.
