I thought I would share another side of my life.  I am very keen on eating healthy and keeping fit.

I believe we should nourish our bodies from the inside out.

I am a lover is smoothies especially  green smoothies and I have them everyday . They have helped me maintain my weight and energy levels .

Here are 2 of my favorite smoothies.

The Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:
Natural Greek yoghurt
Raspberries
Strawberry
Blackberries
Bananas
Chia seeds

I take this smoothie once a week because I am not into dairy.

Greek yoghurt has a much higher amount of protein than milk and it’s easier to digest. It’s lower in carbs and contains good bacteria (probiotics) for digestion in your gut.

Berries are packed with antioxidants and are full of fibre important for our digestive system. They are also linked to increased levels of good cholesterol (HDL) and are known to lower blood pressure.

Chia seeds are a good source of fibre which helps with satiety ( the feeling of fullness ).

I used the banana to add some natural sweetness. And it’s also my favorite fruit .😜 It has a low glycemic index that doesn’t cause major spikes in blood sugar levels.

Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

Spinach
Bananas
Mangoes
Pineapple
Chia Seeds
Grated Ginger
Water

Green smoothies are easy to digest , they keep you hydrated , increase your energy and are great for the skin.

I have a green smoothie everyday of the week as my breakfast .

I change the ingredients slightly, I could change the base from water to coconut water or to almond/ rice milk.

Add a few vegetables like celery , coriander or some cucumber.

It’s easy to make and good for people who don’t like to eat much in the morning like me.

Green smoothies are healthier than vegetable juices because you are able to get all the fibre in your drink.

One glass a day provides you with all the vitamins you need.

Go on and give it a try. You can add Stevia for some added sweetness if necessary.

I will be sharing more of my healthy lifestyle with you guys . So feel free to share and ask questions.
