Comfort vs. Fashion: How to Achieve Both

It almost sounds unachievable — being comfortable and at the same time being stylish and fashionable. But it isn’t. In fact, it is very achievable. Sure when you hear the words “comfort is key in fashion and style” you immediately think of leggings or baggy clothes. However, that isn’t always the case. You can be both stylish/fashionable and comfortable at the same time. All it takes is a few tweaks in your wardrobe and you’ll be set. Here are a few things you can do to finding a good balance between comfort and fashion/style:

Establish your personal style

Remember when we talked about the different personal styles? No? Read HERE all about them. Personal style is the way you express yourself by what you choose to wear. Therefore, establishing your personal style is the fastest way you can find comfort in what you wear every day. Finding your personal style is easy. You can either use celebrity inspirations or come up with vision boards on how you would like to express yourself through fashion. And if this still proves to be a hard task, you could always talk to us at Image Redefined by calling 0715315960 or email us at info@imageredefined.co.ke for an image consultation.

Choose the right undergarments

We’re talking about bras, underwear and even shapewear! No one likes to have their tummy bulging or their breasts not well supported. Imagine having to adjust your bra every now and then or feel as though you have to keep hiding your tummy. That’s why to truly feel comfortable, you have to invest in the right undergarments.

Dress modestly

Sometimes wearing skimpy clothes is the easiest way to feel uncomfortable. If you don’t want the people around you to pay attention to certain things about you that aren’t their concern, always wear clothes that show no cleavage, cover your upper arms, and flow over the body.

Buy Breathable Fabrics

Natural fibre fabrics like cotton and wool allow moisture to escape while synthetics like polyester and acetate do not. In fact, the stifling quality of synthetic fabrics will make you sweat and stink, making you feel so uncomfortable.

Pay Attention to Lining

The fabric used to line your clothes—or lack thereof—can make a big difference in how comfortable you feel in them. Look for silks, satins and cashmere-lined garments and avoid synthetics and unlined items unless the fabric itself is quite luxurious.
