Over the years, I have picked up some healthy habits to maintain weight loss and trying different green smoothie recipes has been at the top of my list.

Green smoothies are a combination of fresh leafy greens, flavorful fruit, and a liquid base. All these in one cup have helped me fight sickness, maintain weight-loss, boost iron intake and detox. Sound too good to be true? It’s not!

I have tried a number of green smoothie recipes, but these 3 are my favourites and are easy to whip up, with easy to find ingredients.

RECIPE 1: GREEN PEACH COCONUT DREAM

This sweet Peach Coconut Dream green smoothie is perfect for those who are watching their sugar intake. 

What you’ll need:

  • spinach
  • coconut water
  • chilled grapes
  • chilled peaches
  • collagen powder
  • stevia
GREEN PEACH COCONUT DREAM

Step 1: Add a handful of spinach together with some coconut water into the blender and blend until it smooth.

Step 2: Add grapes, peaches and a spoonful of collagen powder into the spinach-coconut water mixture. Mix until smooth. You can add coconut water depending on how thick or thin you want the smoothie.

Step 3: This step is optional. If you want to sweeten the smoothie, you can add a few drops of stevia, which is a natural alternative to sugar.

Step 4: Pour the blended smoothie into a glass or a cup of your choice and enjoy.

RECIPE 2: GREEN AVOCADO PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

What you’ll need:

  • chilled avocado
  • spinach
  • chilled ripe bananas
  • coconut milk
  • almond butter
  • coconut oil
  • protein powder

Step 1: Add a handful of spinach and coconut into the blender and mix until smooth.

Step 2: Add the fruits; avocado and chopped bananas, almond butter, coconut oil, protein powder and chia seeds and blend till the mixture is consistent.

Step 3: Add a few drops of stevia to sweeten and stir.

Step 4: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy

RECIPE 3: GREEN PINEAPPLE MANGO SMOOTHIE

What you’ll need:

  • chilled pineapple
  • chilled mango
  • seedless orange
  • spinach
  • hem seeds
  • water

Step 1: Add a handful of spinach and drinking water into the blender and mix thoroughly.

Step 2: Add the fruits together; mango, pineapple and orange and blend again.

Step 3: Pour in the hem seeds and mix again until the consistent is smooth.

Step 4: Pour the smoothie into a jar or a glass and enjoy.
