Last week began Hendrick’s Celebrations of the World Cucumber Day which I was glad to be part of. In what was called a Bar Crawl, we visit various outlets in Nairobi where a very exciting ‘cucumber exchange’ courtesy of Hendrick’s is currently taking place.
World Cucumber Day is the one day of the year when the noble cucumber receives the attention it deserves. Every June 14th, for that is when it falls, Hendricks Gin celebrates this remarkable fruit (or ‘vegetable’ or even ‘gourd’ if you prefer).
Hendrick’s gin is infused with cucumber & rose. The addition of a slice or two of cucumber unfurls the full majesty of these glacially elegant flavours and releases the full poetry of their utterly balanced gin.
With a cucumber in your hand, you will be able to exchange it for a glass of Hendrick’s gin at the following outlets in Nairobi, everyday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm until 14th June, which is the World Cucumber Day.
Villa Rosa Kempinski, Hemmingways Collection, The Lord Erroll, Quespasa, Ankole Grill, The Collective Nairobi, Muthaiga Country Club, Karen Country Club, and Tapas in Westlands.
One cucumber equals one drink and you will only be able to exchange once per outlet. Ensure that your cucumber is fresh as there will be a cucumber bouncer at the bar checking for quality 🙂
So go ahead and visit any of these outlets for a special free drink.
Special thanks to Hendrick’s Kenya for partnering with me on this campaign. Check out their website for cocktail recipes and more! https://www.hendricksgin.com/us/world-cucumber-day
Till the next one,
Love and light.
