Hello loves! Hope you had a great week.
Today, I want to fill you in on this beautiful gingham dress I recently purchased and share with you the reasons why I love it, and where you can rock it to!
First things first, the name gingham is what is most people like to call ‘checked’. In the dress making world, gingham is a medium-weight balanced plain-woven fabric made
from dyed cotton or cotton-blend yarn. It is made of carded, medium or fine yarns, where the colouring is on the warp yarns and always along the grain.
That colouring could be red, blue, green or any other colour, which now gives the ‘box’ kind of look on a garment, which many love to call ‘checked’.
This beautiful gingham dress is light weight, perfect for a sunny day, and has just the right amount of stretch to provide a fitted and slim look.
What drew me to this little number is the one shoulder design. I found it very unique and a statement piece for any occassion I was going to attend.
By now I’m sure you know that I love outfits that have a unique style 🙂
As always, I’m a heels lover and to pair this dress, I pulled out my black heels for a classy look.
For hair, I let my hair down but an updo would also add some chicness to the overall look.
Chose a bold red lip to add a pop of colour and was ready to meet up my girlfriends.
Let me know what you think about this gingham look. Where would you wear it? Leave me a comment 🙂
Thanks so much for reading!
